Weak airflow with inconsistent controls

Maximum airflow is weak even for a desktop fan. The maximum speed setting corresponds to the low or medium speed for a full-size stationary fan. The oscillation control doesn't seem to stay active and the fan stops spinning at random times. The "Breeze" mode, which randomly speeds up and slows down, is useless and just makes more noise when the fan speed changes. All in all no better than a regular desktop fan. The telescopic stand is new, but very situational.
