Review on Purina Friskies Pate Chicken Dinner by Christine Noland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not as advertised in Wet

I buy a lot of Friskies for the colony of stray cats I feed. I can buy boxes of 24 jars here for the price I can afford for the 8-10 little mouths I feed every day. I noticed that all of the pie tins looked like one side was cut off a bit; as if part of it was already missing when I opened the jar. I decided to weigh some of them. All cans say they weigh 5.5 ounces. I pulled out a loaf of three different flavors — chicken and liver, chicken and tuna, and turkey and offal — and none of them weighed 5.5 ounces. They were between 4.5 and 4.9. While each flavor contains amounts of "sauce" (water) ranging from trace amounts to maybe 1/4 ounce, this cheap method of trying to balance the advertised weight still doesn't add up to 5.5 ounces . Here the customer is cheated. Also, they seem to be constantly changing formulas or manufacturing processes. Three flavors the homeless used to love but won't eat anymore. First it was Ocean Whitefish. Next was chicken with liver. And now, for 4-6 months, it's Mixed Grill. These are stray cats who will eat anything. Well, except fillets or flakes or any other shape that looks like a spongy meat. I've tried feeding it to both my house cats and stray cats and no one wants anything to do with it. Purina, what's up?
