This is a unique piece that I wanted to try on myself. Most other razor stands either have two handles - one for the razor and one for the shaving brush - or are a small, weighted base on which the razor handle rests vertically. These bases work well with most double-edged safety razors as they have rounded handles. However, many modern non-double-edged safety razors do not have rounded handles. This style works with any handle or razor. My first impression was also far exceeded. The thing looks very well made. He just looks good. The upper and lower parts fit together exactly and snap into place with magnets. In a pinch, you could shave with a mirror when nothing else is around, but that's very little. I like how the base holds the extra blades. I think it would be great for travel - there is a place to put a razor and store extra blades. It's not very cheap, but I don't think it's overpriced based on how good it looks (build quality). In general I am satisfied.
