My wife was very pleased with this, less for hiking than for travel. It's quite small, so the usual camping setup is too big and unwieldy for it. This backpack is very light and small enough to take with you on a flight. A regular backpack is too small for her to carry everything she needs in her carry-on, so she usually carries an extra trolley case. This leaves her hands free which is much more comfortable when handling our 3 year old. There are many pockets to put things. She likes the back pockets where you can put small items without taking off the backpack.
