Review on Acer G246HL Abd 24" LED Monitor - 1920X1080, 60Hz, Tilt Adjustment by Troy Drake

I got it for $130 and it was good money. 24 inch, 1080p, 5 ms response time. These 3 items together cost over $200 from any other brand. You can find a 22-inch monitor with the same specs at this price point from other competitors, but the 24-inch monitor is simply better. good up close, like a computer monitor, like old 50 inch plasmas that looked like crap in the 90's if you weren't far away. Same here, around 1080p doesn't look good on anything larger than 24 inches. Now to the monitor. My main use is gaming. First I bought a 2ms response time, but that doesn't matter. I played Far Cry Blood Dragon (a game with very heavy use of color, going from black to neon purple to neon green and back again, with blasters firing everywhere) and there was no ghosting on this monitor. If 5 ms is enough in Blood Dragon, it will work in other games as well. Neither does Battlefield 4. So basically the perfect combination of features and price. Because it is external, the monitor is very light. It also doesn't get hot on its own, which I keep in mind to extend the life of the actual screen. - The screen can be tilted up and down, not sure if it can be tilted left or right. The menu buttons take a minute to get used to, but the menu arrows indicate what the button does, really quite simply. Get it for $130 or less, the price just went up to $150. - Factory brightness is 100 and it's bright. I had to lower the contrast to around 30 to see the lines and brightness to 10 to match my old 60 monitor. This thing has extreme brightness.
