I bought this for my 12 year old daughter who likes to carry her sketchbook and pencils with her. It looks so cute when she wear it. Velvet fabric is comfortable to the touch, is comfortable and dense. So far it makes a pretty solid impression. It's a good size, not huge, but fits a laptop, water bottle and a few other things my daughter needs and still has room. My only complaint is that I didn't realize before ordering that while the bag itself is a nice deep green color, the handles are green and I wish they were either the same color as the bag or a completely different color, like brown or something like that. .
