okay, the second time is nice. I bought one and was a bit careless when removing the film and accidentally touched the fingerprint sticker with the dust-off sticker. This caused the fingerprint reader to not work. Because I made a mistake I decided not to return the original and bought the black one for $16 with a coupon. I was very careful this time, did it in a well-lit area, cleaned the phone, removed the dust, then removed the protective film and very, very carefully peeled the protective film over the fingerprint scanner sticker from one of the instruction stickers that came with it. I quickly placed it on my phone and removed any bubbles from the fingerprint area. I knew I would have to get a new fingerprint, so I immediately tried to register them. No success. I waited 5 minutes, made sure no bubbles were visible and tried again. This time it worked, we managed to register all 4 fingerprints. Absolutely perfect and looks great. I hope this review helps someone and underscores the importance of taking your time and being careful! ***Update*** Let's see if I can explain the sticky dot on the fingerprint reader. The fingerprint scanner is audible, meaning it uses ultra-frequency sounds like sonar to show the ridges on your fingerprint. The plastic cover prevents the scanner from working. To get around this, Umaker created this little gel "glue dot" that directs sound waves through plastic. If you touch "dot" in any way, it doesn't work. If there are bubbles under the point, this will not work. If the screen is dirty when you put the case on, the point will not work. My first attempts failed because I wasn't careful. On my second case, I was VERY, VERY careful. When done correctly, the dot should be completely transparent and appear almost darker than the rest of the protective film. Mine works fine. I'll try to upload some photos later. *** Added image showing proper installation with fingerprint gel sticker. Note that it has no bubbles and is darker than the rest of the screen protector. It's perfectly clear when the screen is on. Hope this all helps.
