Review on πŸ” Accurate Tracking and Monitoring with Runleader Hour Meter Tachometer Interior Accessories by Flip Shaw

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great gauge. Works perfectly. Highly recommended.

I bought this particular Runleader hour meter after researching many similar products. I chose this product because of all the features, the IP67 rating for diving and because it is not a "fully sealed disposable product". You can replace the batteries and keep using it. Stored information (hours, RPM, service settings, etc.) will NOT be lost when changing the battery. The battery life is about 2 years if you always have the display on. But the great feature of this product is that you can press the "Menu" and "Set" buttons and the display will turn off. It turns on automatically when you start the car or press any button. This extends battery life by many more years. It all depends on how often the device is used. It uses a thicker battery than normal "CR2032 or CR2025" type batteries. Instead, the more durable CR2450 is needed. I installed it on my new Ariens Pro 28" RapidTrak snow thrower. It's a quality product, it doesn't look or feel 'cheap' at all. The fasteners are either velcro or bolts, nuts and washers I mounted mine with bolts Nuts and washers The wire is 5ft long and easy to use Just wrap a few loops around your engine's spark plug and it will show RPM and hours (based on tenths) It also shows Hours, 24-hour military time. You can set up maintenance alerts based on the hours you've spent changing oil, spark plugs, or any other maintenance you want. It has 2 maintenance alerts, so you can set two different alerts when you It also has RPM alerts that you can set up.There are many settings that you can start with up front for your particular machine to get the correct RPM information/readings. You need to set the correct firing order or sequence from 2-stroke/1-cylinder to 4-stroke/16-cylinder. You also need to set the RPM range, of which there are four options ranging from 0 to 6000 RPM all the way up to 25,000 RPM. I had the wrong setting at first, I set my snowblower to what I thought was the correct "4-stroke / 1-cylinder" setting. However, my sales were far away. After reading a little note in the manual that says "Some 4-stroke/1-cylinder engines require a 2-stroke/1-cylinder/4-stroke/2-cylinder setting", I changed the adjustment to this and the counter was in place and read the revolutions per minute perfectly. If you make the wrong settings for your engine, they will not be accurate. It is very easy to view the settings and make the necessary changes. It's not difficult at all and the instructions are excellent, although the handwriting is quite small. Runleader offers many different hour/tachometers and many of them look pretty much the same. There are minor differences between the two, including the water resistance ratings. This gauge offers you 3 different button colors, red, black or blue, and is submersible to IP67, so it can withstand rain, snow and ice with ease. I am very satisfied with this counter and can only recommend it. Just take the time to set it up initially and it will work great. Just a couple of minutes.
