After about 18 months my HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 laptop started losing connection. It looks like the main USB-C port is loose, but it wasn't clear if it was the connector on the side of the dock or both ports on the computer. I have since read others with this complaint. I have updated all dock and laptop firmware as per HP requirements before getting help. After that, the audio through the dock stopped working. It then started refusing to connect from time to time unless the computer was restarted. Eventually I replaced it with a CalDigit TS3 Plus Thunderbolt 3 Dock and my problems were gone. The one-year warranty for the HP Docking Station has expired. I never tried to get help from HP after reading many posts from frustrated owners. The good news is that the HP laptop still looks as good as ever.
