Cute in theory, but not very practical

My four year old son loves Paw Patrol. I thought it would be a fun addition to his clay collection. The set is cute, bright and will show off any pup perfectly. However, actually making puppies from mold is another story. The cutter's "face" is cute and shows each puppy. It takes practice and patience to impress, and not everything is perfect. Some impressions are alive and you can clearly see what kind of character it is. However, removing a puppy's neckline is a difficult task. Adding accessories (glasses, hat, vest, stars) is just a disaster. If you do not want the plasticine to mix and get a fancy color, carefully put the accessories on the carved puppy. Four years is just not practical. I cropped Skye in the pictures. My son carved the watchtower. I have not received any instructions but as you can see the impression is not as clear as it could be. There's nothing wrong with that, but he was discouraged from attempt to attempt. It was difficult for him to remove the plasticine from the molds without crumpling the design. Fun for kids and I like the bright cutouts myself. However, kids will most likely find this activity challenging due to the amount of detail.

Pros
  • OVER 20 PLAY-DO TOOLS: Each pup and their hat can be designed with stamps, and there are also stamps to design and customize each pup with. There is also a small modeling clay stamp to build an observation tower
Cons
  • Lots of things
