the fan is too noisy. Put in the garage if you want peace and quiet. It takes about 7 hours to distill 1.5 gallons. After each use, sediment (water particles) remain on the bottom, so it needs to be cleaned before each new distillation cycle. We use vinegar and a sponge to remove dirt from the inside. Otherwise it works very well. Our water contains a lot of calcium, which is completely removed during distillation.
