Review on Solo NYC Briefcase by Daniel Icyblue

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality bag with a significant design flaw.

There are a few downsides Materials used for the bag Stitching, laptop Padding, zippers and handles are strong and well made. The canvas material used is thicker than some of the materials I've seen in other bags sold in stores for around the same price. It appears to have some level of water resistance and cut protection, although I wouldn't recommend soaking them in water or, of course, forcibly cutting them with a box opener. It's also minimalist and stylish, which I like. The bag is thinner than I would like Use it as a main bag for work. 13" Macbook Pro, charger, mouse, and some other flat accessories. You can also use a thinner (text/representative accurate) book. Anything thicker, like a glasses case or even a thin sweater, and things will get tight, which can make this a poor choice for commuters. There just isn't that much flex/stretch around the pockets unless you don't mind your stuff being flattened. The above could be worked around, but the Main reason I removed a star is that the shoulder strap is not detachable, you can shorten it and tuck it in the bottom of your bag, but there is no physical way to undo it when not needed, for me this makes up for it short handles almost useless. In the end I returned this item and SOLO Backpack UBN310 15.6" Hybrid Laptop Briefcase - Grey; same price but slightly larger and more flexible. The final downside for me was the non-detachable shoulder straps. But other than that, this is a quality bag with a clear design flaw in my opinion.

Pros
  • Notebook briefcase. This slim briefcase has a padded 15.6" laptop sleeve, an internal tablet sleeve, a full-length front zip pocket and a full-size front zip pocket
Cons
  • Very expensive
