Be careful - they may not suit you!

There are a few things to understand before you decide to buy: 1. You mention "banana" several times in the description. These are of course wire connectors for spring-loaded connectors and have nothing to do with banana connections.2. The description says they work with up to 8 gauge wire (bottom number is larger). I have 12 gauge speaker wire and these jacks will NOT work. You can insert the wire into the connectors, but the problem is that the two set screws that hold the connector to the wire are TOO long. They will NOT screw in deep enough to allow the thermowell to be screwed in after assembly is complete. Without this coupling, two conductors (+, -) can easily come into contact with each other. For the smaller speaker cords (e.g. size 14 or 16) I assume the set screws go in far enough for the grommet to be installed. These are audiophile jacks, however, meaning most users will want to use them with larger cables - in which case they're useless at least for 12 gauge or larger. Part of the design problem is that the set screws are on either side (ie 180 degrees) on the connector. This requires the inner diameter of the sleeve to be large enough to accommodate the insufficient depth of both set screws. This design increases the strength of the cable in the connector, but requires the grommet to balance both (if the setscrews are on one side of the connector, the grommet would only need to accommodate the one screw that protrudes the furthest). .)3. Attempting to insert one of the set screws deep enough (be careful, this requires a very small flat head and considerable force) the lead wire came loose from one port. It will not plug back in and this plug will immediately become unusable. I'm also worried about the overall quality. To solve the set screw problem, you can either 1. get a larger ID sleeve, or 2. provide a second set of shorter set screws, which may cost 20 cents more.
