Bought to hang something nice by the fireplace. It does a good job of picking up ash, but to be honest the cheap plastic version did a better job. The handle is a good length for sweeping debris off the floor but not suitable for moving it inside the fireplace. The brush is beautiful and so soft. But it turns out that a cheap plastic fiber brush works better for my purposes - that static electrical charge generated by the plastic helps you attract and hold pet hair and dust. The absence of static electricity is the advantage of this brush; who knew it was really good. Still, it's a great set and I don't regret buying it.
