Poor image quality

I bought this Canon SD3500 to replace my existing Canon SD850. I was looking forward to the SD3500's larger display, touchscreen, and HD video capabilities. When I received the camera, I took some test shots. At first, the photos looked normal on the camera's 3.5-inch display. I didn't have time for further reviews because my son graduated that evening. I took the opportunity to take advantage of the new camera. I took about 20 pictures of my son and his date. When I checked them out the next morning, I was very disappointed. Some images were blurry. Others had a flair for the lens despite being filmed indoors. The rest was grainy and lacking in detail. I figured I just didn't have enough time to familiarize myself with the camera's capabilities, so I spent the rest of the day reading the manual and testing the camera as the quality of the images from my older Canon SD850 always fit, I opted for the same settings. The only difference is the resolution of the CCD in each camera (8 megapixels on the SD850 and 14.1 megapixels on the SD3500). disappointed again with the result of the photos taken with the SD3500. Image quality was washed out and grainy. When I compared the images from both cameras side by side, I was amazed! The images from my old Canon were much sharper and more detailed. Believe me, I really wanted to like the SD3500. The camera has great specs, but image quality is by far the most important factor in a camera. That's why I couldn't justify keeping it, that's why it's coming back today. If it wasn't for the innovative design and amazing features, I would only give this camera 1 star. I've had probably half a dozen Canon cameras and this is the only one that has disappointed me.
