. it's on ps4 so can't comment on how good they are for console use

First of all I would like to say that I am a PC gamer and don't use them on PS4 so I can't comment on how good they are for console use. I'll break it down into parts: First introduction: The packaging for the thresher is very nice, like most new razor offerings, it's a hard box wrapped with foam around the product. The earbuds are mostly plastic with a matte black finish like the Razer, but with a nice aluminum band around the headband. Customization: They are pretty much plug and play for the PC user. You simply plug in the USB dongle and then connect the optical cable from the dongle to the optical output port. There are more steps on the console, so check the setup guide for that information. First use: I used them for the first time after charging and they are incredibly comfortable. The hanging headband should fit most head sizes without pinching the head. I had this issue with previous Kraken models and found them difficult to wear for long sessions. The strap is still basic, but without the cushion, I wish Razer had added some memory foam here for extra comfort. The connection to the USB dongle was very successful at first and frequently lost connection. I attributed it to the Wi-Fi interference in the 2.4GHz band because it got fixed after a while. most likely to do with signals defining their areas in my house. Sound: They sound fantastic, there's no way to adjust the noise level for an extra base, and no presets, which is unfortunate, but the stereo sound is still phenomenal. Dolby Surround should really only be enabled for games that require more directional sound, as it crowds out the soundstage and lets voices reverberate a bit. That's not bad, but for video and music, just stick with stereo. Microphone: The mic is decent for a headset mic, a studio mic still sounds better, but it's good for in-game chat for the typical gamer. I'm happy to report that, unlike previous reviewers, it does indeed have mic monitoring. The manual says to turn it on you have to press and hold the microphone volume button until you hear a beep.
