Note: Color shown in photo. So I ordered light gray and white underwear because I wanted to see them in person before making my decision. Linen and light gray are very similar in color, at first glance it seemed to me that I got the same blanket twice. But the linen definitely has more texture than the light gray, which ultimately influenced my decision. The light gray is great! But more of a solid color and maybe a gray leaning more towards blue (compared to brown or lilac grey). The linen color is so neutral and just looks luxurious, I fell in love! So aesthetic it doesn't weigh down my down pad making my bed look so fluffy. I've been fighting for something classic and never out of style white, but it's a very bright white. And the color made my "white" sheets look creamy, and maybe they are? In truth, I would also like a white blanket in exchange for replacing it with a linen color, but that's a wish, not a necessity. As for the softness. I washed it in baking soda/mild detergent and it feels almost the same. And compared to a Pottery Barns linen duvet, it's not as soft. BUT my very texture sensitive daughter said that linen is her favorite color and that although the texture is not very soft at the moment, she feels very comfortable sitting on the duvet on my bed. So I really hope it will soften up after a few washes. I rarely wash bed linen, so we'll see.
