After reading some reviews I doubted whether I should buy this product or not so I decided to write my own review . So you definitely buy a container for aesthetic reasons rather than practical reasons. It's beautiful and all my arrivals are safe and sound. It works flawlessly in the sense that you can store food in it and the lid closes properly. However, if you fill the container too full, the lid will not close. With most jars I've had, the lid pushes the contents down a little, making for a tight seal. This container doesn't do this unless you put something else on top or keep the pressure constant. Regarding the comments on the bamboo cover. I hand wash the lid. In my experience, bamboo doesn't clean very well in the dishwasher, it will "curl" and change shape, so the lid may not fit the container anymore. purpose and looks good in my kitchen. But I probably won't use this container if I need to bring food to work as the lid's seal isn't perfect.
