Different people had different needs for keyboard covers. It is a case and keyboard combination, but the keyboard is detachable. This way you can keep your keyboard on your lap and your iPad away. The keyboard connects via Bluetooth and needs to be paired the first time you use it. PRO: The case is much lighter than other cases I've used. It seems to protect the iPad very well and has a good place for a stylus. The keyboard has keys to adjust brightness, volume, search, and a home button (which aren't present on an Apple keyboard). The keys have a good drop. The screen supports multiple angles. Thin and light. Cons: When the screen is open, the iPad slots fit into a notch instead of magnetically snapping into the notch like an Apple keyboard. There is no protection between the detachable keyboard and the iPad screen when I close it. happy with the keyboard
