I wasn't expecting much from this shelf at such a low price. However, my requirements are low. 2 shelves that I can wall mount, big enough for a game console and possibly a DVR in the future. This unit has met those needs so far, although the shelves could be deeper as my PS4 hangs about 2.5 inches over the edge. Not happy about that, but oh well. So installing this device was pretty easy. Place the bracket on the wall, use a spirit level to make sure it's level. Drill holes in the appropriate places. Check flatness again, hammer in anchor. Replace wall bracket. Tighten screws. I settled on some heavy 45 pound anchors ($2.50 at Home Depot) because the included anchors looked very cheap. 45-pound anchors may be overkill, but they certainly won't hurt anything. Once the rear bracket was in place, I again used a spirit level to ensure the glass shelves were perfectly level. If you can wall mount the TV, this will be an easy project. The hardest part of this job was getting the cable coverage system to work for you, not against you. It's not the best system and it struggled with me all along, but in the end it looks good and does what it's supposed to. As for the negative reviews, I don't really understand them. If you install it properly (especially if you use strong anchors like I did) you'll never have to worry about it coming loose from the wall. Speaking of broken glass. glass does it. You have to live with that risk. I would not recommend placing this shelf low on the floor if you have toddlers or violent dogs. But it should be pretty obvious. Such glass shatters if struck improperly. So I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to a friend. My only real complaint is that I wish the shelves were a little lower. But this is on my account and does not reflect any negativity towards the product.
