I've only had the bag for a few months, but took it to Mexico for a week and Nicaragua for a week. My things fit perfectly (I probably pack them easier) and I had no problem with it as a carry on. I like the way it looks and have had a few compliments. Please note that it only opens with the zip on the zip side so it doesn't come loose like a suitcase.A backpack's straps make it easier to navigate a crowded airport, which is great if you have checked luggage that you also need to wheel.You can also use the bag for hiking or weekend trips .
