My last computer monitor arm didn't have a counterbalance or whatever it's called, so I didn't understand how the monitor arm worked at first and the documentation wasn't great. Anyway, a youtube video later and I was in much better shape. It's not easy to find the right balance, but once you get it, it's pretty good. This thing tried to come back to me once, but it's been fine ever since. It's been about a month now. I would definitely buy another one now that I know how they work. It mounts easily, feels stable on the desk and my monitor is where I want it to be. Can't ask for more. You can use a clamp (my choice) or a long screw that goes through the table/table.
