Let me start by saying that I sleep on my side and always prefer a medium sized pillow; not too soft and flimsy, but not rock hard either. This pillow is VERY HARD! When I first got it I really wasn't sure I would like it, let alone sleep on it. However, this pillow has greatly reduced my chronic neck and shoulder pain. He has almost completely eliminated it! It's been a few years since I've used a contour pad so I started on the lower/less curved side. I did this for a couple of nights but didn't feel like my neck was getting the support it needed. So I switched to the bigger/curvier side and it was great! It's amazing how this pillow keeps its shape! Every night is like sleeping on a new pillow. And it stays cool too - I don't wake up with an overheated head or face. I've tried so many different pillows over the past 2 years - straight memory foam, shredded memory foam, Kohl's The Big One memory foam pillow specifically for side sleepers, the very popular My Pillow pillow, etc., and nothing has left me helped. Neck and shoulder pain, except this one! I recommend it to others who may have the same problems. And I would say give it at least a week to get used to it. This pillow arrived the same day I received my first botox treatment for a chronic migraine that was causing severe pain in the base of my skull and neck. I waited 4 weeks to use this pillow to make sure it was botox and not a pillow. It was definitely botox. This pillow is great and I will buy it again if the need arises!
