This key fob will definitely work for 2006 Chevy HHR. I give you good advice. Go to your local locksmith and stay away from the local dealer! They will overpay for you. A locksmith can easily program this key fob for your car. You simply plug your tool into an OBD2 socket and allow you to communicate remotely with your vehicle's computer. It literally took my locksmith 2 minutes and the job was done! The build quality is not the best. Feels cheap and can easily break. But it works! Believe me! Just be gentle with him. Supplied with built-in battery. I would recommend this remote if you need a backup but are still using your original remote. That's what I do Much luck:)
