Review on GNC Earth Genius PurEdge Plant-Based Gainer - Natural Vanilla | 14 Servings | 50g Plant-Based Protein by Wendy Rodriguez

Was there a focus group that really liked the taste?

I've been in the game for a while now and as a hardgainer I've had trouble going vegan and finding high calorie foods. I took this because another product I normally use, Ironvegan Gainer, was switched from Prime Shipping to Standard Shipping and as I had 1 day of product left I needed to fill the gap. With a 25% off coupon and prime shipping, I bit it. Good: It goes very, very well with a shaker cup. Bad: that. Tastes good. Terrible. I'm used to how to say "interesting" tasting cocktails, but that's nonsense. It's like someone adding twice as much stevia as a normal person would use. Wow. And while they're promoting veganism, I read the ingredients list and it's not surprising to read things like TRAACS Magnesium Biglycinate Chelate, Silicon Dioxide, Polydextrose. When I read the IronVegan package I don't see anything like that. Ironvegan Gainer has more calories per serving (720 vs 570), comes in a 5.5 lb pack, and is cheaper per serving. And tastier. For me this is very important because. I *never* recommend chocolate-based mixes because my mentality has always been that it's always easier to mix a vanilla smoothie with other things (bananas, pea milk, etc.) to balance the flavor if it doesn't taste good. But iron vegan. I can drink it straight. GNC, I applaud you for recognizing the subset of athletes who are trying to eat a little differently and then launching a product to satisfy them, but I strongly encourage you to continue to do so to enhance.
