Received the goods yesterday. I decided that before I start using them, I'll do a quick cleaning of my hands. At first I thought the problem was on the inside of the lid when a thin plastic ring came loose. What the hell? It turns out an insert to protect the plastic cover. OK. Relax. Good to know. I wish there was a note to remove it before use. Now for the (really) bad news: the lining protects the plastic lid, but the edges of the lids are dirty. I had to literally run my finger over each lid (the area where the plastic meets the curve of the inner lid; this is where it's glued) with a slightly damp paper towel to remove the dirt. Not once, but at least 3 times for each lid. I did this (to a clean spot on the paper towel each time) until the dirt was gone. Needless to say, it took a while. I didn't feel like storing spices in dirty containers. All but one have been cleared. One had so much dirt in the lid that it was impossible to get at it without damaging it. I put a red X on the cover so I don't use it for condiments. I'm giving it one star because I'm pissed about how dirty it is right now. Unacceptable! I will update the review if the product works as described. Everything else was good. No dents, rust or other noticeable defects. Sequel follows.
