I was looking for a pump that can be used indoors. I bought some fitness equipment that needed to be pumped up. The air pump I already had was intended for inflating car tires and plugged into the cigarette lighter. This meant outdoor use and very noisy. I wanted something that I can use indoors and plug into the wall. An added bonus of this pump I have found is that it is much quieter. When I first pumped up my gear I used a pump attached to the machine and it took a long time to get ready. The second benefit of this pump is that it is much faster and to my surprise my gear was inflated in no time. (I don't know what the review means by "thickness".)
