This lightweight construction arrived on time in undamaged packaging. The lantern itself is not damaged or broken. The instructions were very simple and with pictures. You just put the clips in the holes on the end, making sure that the clips are pointing down when the light is pointing down. The light should not touch the plastic or glass cover of the tank, but should be hung over it. There are many small lights of different colors in the light structure and our aquarium has never looked so bright and the colors have never been so striking. We are all amazed at how wonderful the tank looks now. Photos do not convey this. It gives off enough bright light to charge our glow in the dark pebbles. Fish love light. Having always struggled to find a lightweight design to fit our odd shaped tank, this one is perfect and simply amazing. It is very easy to change colors or turn off. There is a switch on the side where the cable is located. The switch is already in the off position (I think it's an on/off circuit). To turn on only the blue light, toggle it to the left for the single line option. To turn on all lights, flip the two-stroke switch to the right. The Off option should be in the middle.
