. Upon receipt I immediately put it in the wash to minimize shedding and soften it based on the reviews I read. When I made our bed I was generally pleased with the way it looked. This is a very nice blanket and good thickness. BUT, I have too many negatives to agree. First, it doesn't get softer with washing. It's a very harsh and weird texture to the point where my boyfriend couldn't even get over it (he's never picky about linens). Second, it doesn't cover our mattress. I had to tuck the sheets under the mattress so they didn't protrude underneath and push them further to the side so they weren't visible when entering the room. Third, even after washing, it had a strange smell. I can't describe it, but it's just not pretty. Honestly, it's nice, but it's not worth $150 and I don't think it will last long. Our $70 TJMAXX temporary set is of a higher quality, and that's saying a lot.
