Review on Twin Waterproof Mattress Protector and Cover by DMI - Encased Zippered Fit by Jessica Reed

Works but delicate.

We used this cover on a 6 inch memory foam mattress. It didn't fit well and we both worked carefully, but I made a wrong move and it tore at the seam. However, some repair tape worked well and it still does the job. If there's an accident overnight, I just wash the sheets and wipe the bedspread with a disinfectant wipe and I'm done. This material is quite thin; As you can see from the photos, the mattress label is visible through the cover. It made a few rustling noises when we were just using it with the sheet, so I started putting our old, useless mattress pad over it (one of those hypoallergenic, vinyl-free materials that was a little plush and soft, but nothing held back liquids). You'll likely get the same noise-canceling result by simply folding the sheets in half or placing a mattress pad on top of the vinyl. When you unpack this item it will likely have that unpleasant odor that emanates from most vinyl products. Just let it air out for a few hours and you'll be fine. To put these bad boys on you need to flip the mattress on the short side and then slowly and carefully - I mean SLOWLY and GENTLY like it's fabric. Paper - lower the cover from top to bottom. Two people are perfect for this job. If you have a sweater on the bed, be aware: you will eventually break through this thing. You must either go against the acrobatics or let the kids be kids and keep duct tape handy. Our price at the time of purchase was $8.71, and while it's not a particularly durable product, I think it's still worth it. It's definitely better than trying to pee out of a memory foam mattress (hint: you can't).
