I have a yellow item and a penguin item (Madagascar penguins) so this is perfect for me. I'm often cold, so put a blanket on the couch. I usually order the big 50x60 or rather the double 60x80 for the sofa. It's definitely big enough for me, my dog and two cats to snuggle up against each other, they won't be lying on the couch without a blanket or I'll get a 'look' like they're used to from babies on it lie. It's very soft and warm, comfortable weight but not hot, sometimes it can be my sherpa style. I wash it regularly and it holds up well. I tend to put blankets and towels on the more average strength rather than the timer or high temperature so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Also, remove your laundry from the washing machine as soon as possible and only use unscented detergent and fabric softener, and sometimes wool dryer balls.
