I've been carrying some sort of bag for several years. I've never been able to carry a satchel or a man's bag, so I've always preferred backpacks. I'm 34, so a student who went into an algebra class didn't fit. I usually carry my bag by the handle between home/office and car, but I need backpack straps when needed. I wanted a semi-rigid bag made from durable material. Most things I carry with me lie flat (laptop, tablet, tablet, electronics) so I didn't want anything bulky. The SOLO Velocity Hybrid meets all of these requirements. There's just one thing to note, which may or may not concern you: I'm not a skinny guy. So when I put both backpack straps on, the bottom buckle rubs against my sides. This hasn't been a problem yet, but I can see it getting annoying after wearing it on both straps for a long time. My son tried it and it was less noticeable so it's definitely not a design flaw but more of a lack of overeating. :)
