We bought a very large for our 75lb Maggie May dog and a small for our 12lb Pixie dog. Maggie's dress is pretty loose fitting considering her barrel shape. The pixie sits a little tight on her fluffy coat, but an average size would probably be too big. We bought them for the football season last year. Pixie's tank top is ok, but Maggie's tank top has a small tear at the neckline and some unraveling seams on the chest (see picture). However, Maggie definitely wore her tank top more than pixie. I think the tearing at the neckline is expected wear and tear, but the frayed stitching seems more to do with the quality. If you have a large dog I wouldn't expect the t shirt to last more than a season or two. We agree because Maggie loves her leotard! :)
