They are LOUD! I had to take them to our BASEMENT! In the end I managed to muffle the sound by covering the speaker holes, I masked this with the addition of dry moss and a butterfly. Birds are very realistic, they can repeat short phrases and "teach" them what's cool. I wouldn't recommend putting this on your desk right away even though you'd be deaf!
