Great tripod for hiking

The unique shape of this little tripod makes it PERFECT for holding my GoPro while hiking. I've tried several different mini tripods and none worked as I had hoped. Size, shape and flexibility have never been right. However, THIS tripod fitted my plans perfectly and performed flawlessly during a 12 day hike in the rugged mountains of New Mexico. GoPro attaches vertically to the strap. But the whole assembly was overloaded and wanted to tip over. Yielding to gravity, I placed the tripod upside down in the Grimlock clip where it hung perfectly. - When I wanted to take a photo or video, I would strap on the Grimlock and remove the tripod from the backpack strap. - That's what I did back then. Use the tripod as an adjustable handle. Sometimes I would open the tripod legs and set the camera on the ground, a tree stump, or a rock. The large ball adjustment was perfect for me to adjust the camera angle as needed. This is the main thing that was missing from other tripods I've tried. When I was done with the GoPro, I simply snapped it back into the Grimlock clip on the shoulder strap. I was concerned about how durable the tripod might be, but it doesn't show any damage. after almost 2 weeks of very hard use and abuse on the track.

Pros
  • Rubber feet reduce slipping and easily fold into a tripod grip.
Cons
  • I'll Be Silent
