I ordered this bookshelf thinking that like all other Montessori bookshelves/bookcases each shelf is tiered so baby /Toddler can see all their books. ECR4Kids has the same taller bookshelf but I wanted it to be lower so my child can reach all of their books. I have worked as an infant and toddler teacher and have used many of these book displays in the past so I had expectations of functionality. However, the bottom display only has one shelf. This means that with each higher shelf the shelf gets deeper and deeper and if you don't have 2ft high books you won't see your book as it will get lost in the dark hole and out of baby's reach. I was very disappointed with this and had to return it because the look itself is very nice, the build is very solid and the rounded birch wood edges make the shelves extremely safe if an infant or toddler trips and hits their head on the floor.
