Reliable Camera for Little Kids

The Funkprofi Kids Camera is a simple digital camera that lets kids take decent pictures at a great price. other cameras. There's a rubber cover that stays attached to the camera, but sliding it aside reveals a micro-USB charging port and 3.5mm jack, which can be used as a TV-out with composite cables. There is a tiny microSD card slot on the bottom of the camera. The camera comes with a 32GB class 10 microSD card and a microUSB cable that can be used to charge the built-in battery. However, there is no 3.5mm composite cable for outputting images to a TV, and that's actually fine as such a cable carries a low-resolution signal anyway. Instead, you can simply insert a microSD card and use it to browse and transfer files to another device. As you'd expect, the camera is pretty basic. It has a small, unassuming 5MP sensor that lets you record HD video or 2MP, 3MP, or 5MP photos. There's a pass-through viewfinder on the back and a small 1.7-inch LCD screen for framing shots, while there's a miniature round mirror on the front to help line up selfies. The handles are two "C" wings each. side of the body, making it easier for small hands to hold the camera. There's a trigger at the top and two buttons on the sides of the screen on each side. The main power button is located inside the C-wing on the right side of the wing to turn the camera on or off, but after turning it on you also need to hold down the power button next to the screen. So turning it on is a (quick) two-step process. The camera works as expected per hour and allows kids to take pictures and have fun at no additional cost other than the original purchase. The photos are good for children, but I would not scale these images to 8x10 prints and use them in good quality. There is an LED flash on the front, but it is of poor quality and hardly allows shooting in the dark without all sorts of bloom effects. Speaking of effects, there are a few effects you can apply to images, but that's just a rabbit head effect and the rest are different colored virtual frames/borders. They're not spectacular - so don't buy a phone if you think the effects will look like Snapchat filters - they're far from that. However, I will say that the fact that the camera comes with a 32GB card is more than enough for kids to play and take pictures all day. You can format and erase the card on the camera if it somehow runs out of space, or you can erase individual images from the camera, but it takes forever to erase many. However, you can easily erase and copy everything if you hold the card close to your computer. The camera body and wings are all plastic, but this thing is light and comfortable to hold, so I think it should be strong enough to justify your money. I'm deducting a star for a few things. Loading a microSD card is not that easy. You really have to push the card through with your fingernail, and you have to push it further into the case than you'd expect before it loads properly. Children of all ages will have a hard time with this. Second, the C-wing handles make it easy for older kids to hold the camera, but it's not as easy for them to press the shutter button to take a picture. For most children, this means that they must be between the ages of 3 and 4 before they have a realistic chance of constantly pressing the button. Third, the screen is really bad. It's small, the resolution and color reproduction are pretty poor. It's hard to see anything on it. I understand what the price of this camera is, but the screen has minimal range. Finally, the buttons on the sides of the screen on the back aren't quite as intuitive to use. The power button is also a menu button, it took me a while to figure it out. Also, the play button (to view your images) is a standard triangular arrow pointing to the right. But they also have triangular left and right arrows to move left and right through images and menus. This is confusing at first, especially for young children trying to master the device. In general, I know that the camera has serious shortcomings. You don't want to use this to take photos of family gatherings as keepsakes. But are you telling a 4-year-old to have fun for an hour or two at a time? It's fully functional and with the included map and built-in battery, you don't need to buy anything. It's ready to use right out of the box and should be fun for kids ages 3 to 8 or 9.
