I really like the simplicity of this watch, the bold numbers are easy to read even at a glance or from a short distance. The numbers and hands glow in the dark and glow for more than two minutes when charged by light or sun. Other dial markers, like the seconds line and 24-hour numerals, don't glow in the dark but are easy to read even in low light. The numbers that indicate what hour of the day it is seem useless. They just start at 13 and go to 24. I think this space would be more useful if the numbers were from 5 to 60 to show the minute of the hour as most WWI field clocks were designed, a type of clock that did that design inspired by it. (that's what the manual says) The watch has a "screw down crown" which means that to make the watch water resistant you must screw the crown in, this is done by applying a little pressure to the crown and screwing it in rotate clockwise. I only had to push down half a turn until the crown bit into the threads, then I continued turning to the stop. The fabric strap is very nice and gives the watch an adventurous and tactical look. The strap is also easily removable so it can be replaced with another. The band doesn't make me sweat like leather, silicone, plastic and metal, which is another plus. My wrist gets itchy when I wear the strap tight, so I always wear it a little looser. Because they are made of fabric, they absorb water. So if you get wet while washing your hands, for example, they become damp and uncomfortable, but they dry quickly and are still a much better material than leather. The watch itself is light. and doesn't hang on my wrist as much as my other bulkier watches. The clock is powered by a solar battery and according to the instructions the battery lasts up to 6 months on a full charge. There is no indicator on the watch to show how much energy remains inside, but as long as the watch receives direct light from time to time, you don't have to worry about it dying. One thing I noticed when setting the time on this watch is that the seconds hand doesn't move immediately when you push the crown, it lingers for half a second. While this may not bother some people, I am very meticulous about setting my watch and try to make sure the watch is set perfectly. Overall this is a good watch for everyday use and I like that it's made from recycled materials. What I like most about him is his looks and his band.
