I use this little hub to connect accessories to my Windows laptop when it's docked and only the USB-C port is available. The hub works very well as a card reader, I can connect external drives to it, and you can also connect an external HDMI monitor (which I haven't tried yet). The computer quickly recognized the card reader as soon as it was connected. The data transfer speed was good, although I didn't measure it accurately. I mainly use it to read microSD cards from my action camera and my DSLR and it works great in both cases. Overall, this is a good hub if you want to use your computer's USB-C port to connect more devices.
