I'm impressed with the overall quality of these straps, but be aware that they will loosen, so pull over often and check them. I purchased them to carry kayaks on my roof rack. I checked mine on a 6 hour trip and had to tighten them 3 times. I wish the straps were pre-stretched. I would never use these straps alone to carry kayaks. ALWAYS tie down with bow and stern ties, too. ALWAYS. **I should note that the fine print does mention these straps will stretch and loosen when they are new, but I believe this warning should be very large and prominent as this could mean big trouble if your kayak flies off your roof - and besides, I think less experienced drivers may not be as diligent about securing cargo on their roof racks. (The reason one star deducted.) Be safe out there. (Love the bright colors, too!)
