We have two of these devices. The first was for the TV in the living room where we have ceramic tiles. Every time the remote control fell to the floor, the touchpad shattered. After swapping it out a few times, we got this protective case. Problem solved. We then got another one for the TV in the bedroom where we have carpet so falling on the floor wasn't a problem. But the remote control is so small and slim that it always got lost in cases. We chose the blue sheath because it's easy to spot and the rubber keeps it in place. This makes it much easier to keep track of the remote control. It also actually makes them easier to handle and operate.
