Review on WESTHOD Portable Monitor Extender Speaker - 12", P2, HDMI, HD by John Ferguson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great inexpensive room lamp.

They're great for what they are. No, they are not waterproof. No, they're not very bright. But for $7-9, they're really versatile. They run on AA or AAAA batteries, or both, for increased brightness and battery life. The warm color mode is *amazing*. When the power fails on a cold winter night, the glaring light of cool white LEDs gets on your nerves. The warm color is very comfortable and the mixed mode is very comfortable. They are light and small, which I consider an advantage. I've placed them all over the house and they don't stand out and can be hidden somehow. For the price they are great. You just have to know what it is - small room lamps. UPDATE: Used them during a snow storm in Colorado this week. 24 hours without food. With 7 batteries (4 AAA plus 3 AA) we got a full 24 hours of usable light in Warm/Low mode. Only with AAA approx. 12. Only with AA - approx. 16. So as expected - but no, not specified by the seller 72 hours. I wouldn't expect it anyway. They left the lights on all night and the warm color temperature added to the nights of comfort and calm. I've ordered a few more, but I still recommend them. UPDATE 2: Correction. I used lithium because I thought there would be a better life, but that's wrong. They can make it the brightest and offer the best durability, but I came home after being away for three days after a snowstorm and left one of these low with alkaline solutions to check. To my surprise, the lantern was still lit when I got home - 96 hours later. I've attached a photo in the dark after 96 hours. no longer illuminates the room, but is still bright enough for simple tasks. The seller's claim that he can work with alkaline solutions for 72 hours therefore seems legitimate. Very impressive.
