Just take a small flathead screwdriver or whatever and gently bend the bushing back towards the center so it's round again. I posted a picture of the problematic socket before I fixed it. After that the lamp worked perfectly. Just make sure the device is turned off so you don't accidentally sniff it out. So far I'm really impressed. I've gone from 65 watts for three bulbs to a whopping 7 watts and can't see any visible difference. Time will tell if they last or start to fade.
