Comfortable, affordable

Our old mattress lasted 15 years so it's time to replace it. The number of mattress options today is far greater than I remember: traditional, hybrid, foam, chilled foam, etc. I've tried a few at local stores and hybrids seem to agree with me. It really didn't affect the price. I ordered this mattress, it came in 2 days. The package is obviously very heavy. I carried it up the stairs myself, but better with two people. Unpacking the mattress is easy, but I was wrong. A piece of plastic is wrapped around it. Instead of cutting, simply unfold the inner bag and then cut to inflate the mattress. Also, cut it off exactly where the last space for the mattress will be. I did it in another room to air it out and then I spent a heck of a lot of time moving it around. This mattress has individually wrapped coils and a layer of latex and a layer of memory foam on top. We definitely wanted a firm mattress, but I've seen a lot of people opt for a mattress topper after getting an 8 inch mattress. So I just ordered the 10" version which appears to have the same springs with thicker memory foam on top. I really like the individually wrapped coils. In contrast to our last mattress, movements on it are not transmitted as strongly. In the video you can see our 9 year old girl jumping and the bottle hardly moves. Sleeping on your side or back works well. With the old mattress, I tended to have shoulder pain when lying on my side, but this hasn't happened with the new one. I can always add another memory foam topper if my shoulder pain returns, but I definitely don't feel the springs sticking out.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I won't say anything
