I bought this to replace my original FuelBelt bottle. This particular OEM product retained a rancid, moldy smell and aftertaste no matter how much soap was used or how many times it was washed. At first I thought it would make a world of difference, better than a bottle of FuelBelt. However, after a few uses, the same phenomenon occurs where the bottle and cap have a strange musty smell and taste despite regular cleaning. The black plastic bottle cap gives off a horrible odor reminiscent of decay. After each daily use, they should be repeatedly washed with soap and water. The next day "show time" the smells are back. Because they're just thin plastic, there's no way to effectively dry the inside of the bottle. It's ok as long as you don't mind washing 3-4 times after each use. Even then, the smell/taste will likely remain.
