After two previous purchases of other similar pocket watches that just couldn't stand it, this one really does tell the time to the minute every week, looks as reliable and elegant as the pictures and is very easy to read. Also, since the glass front and back are easily distinguishable by touch, there is minimal interference when you want to check the current time. As a rating I would probably give full five stars, but to be quite honest I had my concerns about the redundancy of the small seconds on the right hand side, although now, unlike how photos are viewed on the internet, the large and small seconds hands present are synchronized which gives me more confidence in the accuracy of this great watch; Also, while the chain is a quality item in its own right, the chain is too light and has an open-and-close clasp that requires more fiddling than the slightly longer and more muted brass chain with a simpler slide clasp that I purchased. separately for less than ten dollars. But in general I love these combinations for this very comfortable, attractive and highly functional mechanical watch which as an added plus does not require batteries - this "retro" product is a must have and also makes a great gift for others.
