Revainrating 3 out of 5

Faster than 2018 laptops in this price range, better than expected!

After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to buy this given the warranty and age. I expected it to be smashed and abused but I couldn't ignore the specs for the price. The i5 used is the iconic 2500 series from 2011 which compared to other new $200 laptops with 2018 Celeron processors that I've compared them to in terms of single thread and multi thread - Still outperforms. What I didn't expect when he showed up was his condition. Other reviewers have noted severe scratches and other damage, but as with any refurbished product, your mileage may vary. Attached are photos of my unit, which was virtually flawless. I suspect most of the reviews here are from those who received the worst of them all. It's probably somewhere between mine and theirs on average. My device also came with an extended battery which is great as I was expecting an old regular battery but this one looks pretty new. Battery life is good so far, so I'm happy so far. The device is quite heavy and bulky, but it's well built. It's intended for business use, so expect that when making a purchase decision. It has a disc drive, although it's unlikely you'll be using it in 2018. I tested its light gaming performance with League of Legends. I was expecting stink because it doesn't have a dedicated graphics chip. Initial tests have shown that you can expect a maximum frame rate of around 110 fps and a low one of around 30 fps on medium settings. Not horrible. In low-spec mode, the frame rate was 60-120 fps, which is a nice bonus for a $200 machine. Boot times are excellent due to the SSD, and 8GB of RAM is plenty for a variety of tasks. My only complaints are that the display hinge seems a little loose and my windows key won't turn on, so I'll have to contact the company about this. But now I can also use Windows without a key, so I'm not at a disadvantage in terms of usability. All in all, for $200, this is a great value. I bought this to do my college homework while I'm at the laundry. It has great specs for its price point compared to newer laptops and a surprisingly decent range for light gaming. I guess the homework doesn't get done after all. 0_0'
