Spot welds aren't up to the task - a good post weld project.
Spot welds are poorly done leaving a SMALL weld area. The upgraded design is pretty cool as it offers a powerful catch. Unfortunately, this latch is the only thing holding the wire hook in place after the weld fails. Fatigue from shaking (use) will incapacitate them. Only buy if you plan to modify (re-weld) them before use. They are still cheaper than you can get materials. So if you have a small welder and need some practice, go for it! Outer holes fit snugly in M6 fasteners, and 1/4 inch is comfortable in inner holes.
