I tried this in a small bottle on the recommendation of Beth Smith, a well-known fiber and spinning expert. I used it to soften and finish my scallops and it worked great! Then I tried my next freshly laundered fleece, then hand-dyed wool and alpaca, then skeins and finally hand-knitted jumpers, from Shetland Fair Isle to merino and cashmere. In short, it all feels great! Without leaving a sticky or oily residue, it simultaneously softens and restores the hair's bounce, which I can't achieve with a conditioner. Now I can't be without it, so it made perfect sense for me to go with the gallon size, which is a lot cheaper per ounce than a small bottle.
