I bought another version of the wireless microphone to use with my iPhone 12 Max Pro for YouTube video content creation and it didn't work. I had to return another one and ended up buying it to replace. This is exactly what I was hoping for and works phenomenally. The only downside is that I have to check it every time I use it because it eats up the battery like crazy. I usually record 1-2 hours at a time, and even if I turn off the unit between shots, I can only get 2-3 shots before I have to change the batteries. I agree as I already buy and agree with AAA batteries in bulk from Costco. So yes I am very happy with this device but be aware of the additional cost of using it.
